After hearing and reading much on Juicing, I wanted to do something different for my fifth “no dairy, no sugar” fast. My sweet, generous hubby let me investigate, and along with the help of my eldest daughter, I found the ideal juicer. I need to divulge; I’ve become a little obsessed. I love juicing, not to mention, the fresh finished, sugar-free product! Even the hubby is enthused!
So, with this new adventure in juicing, I am looking forward to seeing the difference it can make in a healthier experience. Maintaining physical health is important to do the work God has given us. The New Living Translation of the Bible describes a Christian as God’s “masterpiece” (Ephesians 2:10)! Those who are part of the family of God are His workmanship. He is shaping us and sculpting us into the image He desires to see reflected for His glory. We are all taking shape either for His glory or for our own [Satan’s].
In the little book, Masterpiece, by Dr. Ken Nichols, it explains, “Taking care of our bodies is part of being good spiritual stewards. . . .[and] The discipline required to take care of yourself physically promotes discipline in every area of your life.”
The Bible states a disciplined life for the purpose of godliness will profit not only in this life but the one to come and “bodily discipline is only of little profit” (1 Timothy 4:7b-8). Yet, by no means does that imply that it is not to be pursued. The Apostle Paul weighs in on the discussion quite heavily, “I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should” (1 Corinthians 9:27a, NLT).
Lastly, let us remember as God’s children, our bodies are His temple. So, glorify God in your body (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, NASB)!
On to the next masterpiece formulated from juice!
