You know I love a good rocker. I could just sit and rock away time. For years I could not understand why the Lord did not bless me with a stress-free rocking existence; To live enjoying the beauty and breezes without the hassles of life. But guess what? I am so thankful He chose to put pressure on the areas of life that would best serve me and ultimately, glorify Him.
I would have remained in my rocker and never gotten out, and I would have missed knowing the depths of His power and love. I would have never grown to understand my purpose in living this life!
Wisdom certainly does come with age and now in my 60’s I know where to find that rocking chair experience which prepares me to meet the day with peace. As long as I live in this life, a battle will rage against my home. So, suiting up in God’s armor must be a daily occurrence.
Our Creator God by way of the Holy Spirit moved the Apostle Paul to write a little book that we really need to live in, daily. It gives direction for each member of the family and ends that chapter with the armor of God divulging just how difficult relationships will be since the fall of man (Ephesians 6).
Don’t ever forget there is a spiritual war raging for our homes. Satan will not stop oppressing families and he is all about destroying the home. His greatest victories are definitely in the home while many sit in their rocking chairs totally oblivious.
In Ephesians 6, Paul pounds his teaching home for keeping family members in line and quickly gives the command to be STRONG.
“Finally (after teaching on the family, this is important) BE STRONG (this means you are empowered; you are increasing in strength) IN THE LORD, (He will provide the strength when you look to Him) and in the strength (dominion, force) of His might (inherent power).” Ephesians 6:10, NASB
This is certainly not for those who can’t get out of their rockers, and we certainly cannot do anything apart from His power enabling us while we cast our burdens upon Him.
John 15:5 – apart from me you can do nothing! Psalm 55:22 – cast your burden upon the Lord, and He WILL sustain you!
Remember, it isn’t the spouse or the little people in your home who you are fighting against, it is that shrewd, lying devil who wants to knock you down and devour your home (1 Peter 5:8; Ephesians 6:12).
Heavenly Father, we just can’t seem to get up out of our rocking chairs. We feel powerless! But with your mighty power enabling us to take our stand, we can get up from those rockers and STAND FIRM for your glory to be revealed to the whole world! How we rule our homes will also move into our churches and it becomes the blueprint for all our dealings. Make us strong in the power of Your might! In Jesus’ name, AMEN

Oh Stephanie, you are so welcome!! I am truly inspired by the way you serve your family ❣️Hugs❣️
