Ten years can change a great deal!

Ten years ago, I was wondering if I would ever be able to get out of bed again!

Ten years ago, I mourned the thought of not getting to hold a grandbaby in my arms!

Ten years ago, I experienced the unexpected death of my earthly father!

Ten years ago, I began writing on WordPress.com through the avenue of the Scarlett Road!

Ten years ago, one of my very first posts was a poem from a devotional many of you know because I have quoted from it often (Streams in the Desert).

This poem felt like it answered why (to a certain degree) the pains of my past had been allowed and what God had in mind when He gave the Apostle Paul a thorn in the flesh (2 Cor. 12:7-9), and when He had Paul write in the book of Romans that all things work together for good to those who love Him and are called to be His children (Rom. 8:28).

It is entitled: It Puzzles Me!

It puzzles me; but, Lord, Thou understandest,
And wilt one day explain the crooked thing.
Meanwhile, I know that it has worked out Thy best –
Its very crookedness taught me to cling.
Thou has fenced up my ways, made my paths crooked,
To keep my wand’ring eyes fixed on Thee.
To make me what I was not, humble, patient;
To draw my heart from earthly love to Thee.
So I will thank and praise Thee for this puzzle,
And trust where I cannot understand.
Rejoicing Thou doest hold me worth such testings,
I cling the closer to Thy guiding hand.
(Ecclesiastes 7:13) Streams in the Desert 1 Devotional

So having scripted my thoughts and observations from time spent in the Holy Scriptures and different devotionals exceeded only by exceptional authors for ten years running, while my desire To Know Him and Make Him Known has propelled me to seek even greater wisdom and humility!

“But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign LORD my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.” (Psalm 73:28, NLT)
