A WORD of explanation!

Often, we open our mouths and speak words without thinking. And sadly, it often results in predicaments that need further explanation. Instead, God’s desire is for our hearts to align with His and out of the overflow of the heart come words of life!

“A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart,” Luke 6:45.

“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer,” Psalm 19:14.

When God chose to reveal His heart, it was sending His one and only Son to tabernacle amongst us

Jesus: The WORD (John 1:1): God declared Him – Logos – the living Word – the personal manifestation – The Shekinah glory in open manifestation yet part of the Godhead with complete Deity!

That’s our Jesus born in a stable!

In his Christmas Light booklet, Pastor Stephen Davey writes the following:

Jesus is the eternal logos –the Word.

You can also render logos with the English word ‘reason,’ or ‘explanation.’ Insert that word into verse one (of John 1), and to the English reader it explodes even further with implications: Jesus Christ, lying in that feed trough, is nothing less than the physical arrival of the explanation of God.”

“The Logos is the Messiah – the Son of God – the explanation of who God is and what God is like…”!

“We have been given just enough: to meet God…to know God…and to await that day when we, in person, will worship Him, serve Him, and live with Him forever.”

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)

“The verb “was” is in the imperfect tense, which expresses an ongoing state.

  • In the beginning was, and is and always will be the Word;
  • And the Word was, and is, and always will be with God;
  • And the Word was, and is, and always will be God.”

May our words of explanation come from hearts which match the heart of God!
