Fugacious Existence

Have you unexpectantly received some good news and then in the next moment down comes the bad? It’s like when someone tells you: I have bad news and good news; which one do you want to hear first? The good news: You are getting $2400 stimulus money. But the bad news, you owe $6300 to good ole Uncle Sam! Do you grow weary from hearing so much bad news? Sickness and death are the worst scenarios for bad news, right? The Good News that makes all the bad news seem fugacious is the fact that Jesus offers each person a priceless gift. He presents each with a gift that can be opened at any time. You don’t have to wait until your birthday. And You don’t have to wait until you are on your deathbed. In fact, Jesus says, “Today is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2b).

Many don’t believe there is life after death. Many don’t believe in a literal hell. Many are going to find out they were wrong. It’s possible for all the pain of this life to be made into something beautiful (Ecclesiastes 3:11). God so loved that He gave (John 3:16)! He gave the greatest gift (Romans 6:23): The gift of a sinless perfect Son, Who suffered a death no one else ever needs to suffer. He, our substitutionary sacrifice, satisfied His Holy Father through the work on the cross (1 John 2:1-2). So, open your gift today! “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31)!
