Cry Out! Challenge, Day 29

Have you observed pithy t-shirts and bumper stickers during this election year? Like so many meaningless quotes on Facebook, too often, both the humorous and contradictory messages are not helpful in the least. But the other day I was rewarded with a reflective quote that really preached!

“Christ did not die to whitewash us, He died to re-create us, and none but His re-creations enter heaven.” –C. T. Studd

Like a flat stone gliding across the water, many are obsessed with only the surface. Anything external is elevated as the ultimate meaning to life.  We can be like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Even so you too outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness (Matthew 23:27-28).

Jesus’s desire for us is not to be merely whitewashed but newly created.

“New” Creations!

Cry Out! Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God! Revelation 19:1b
