He stepped down from the pristine perfection and beauty of heaven, the constant presence of the Father, and the full resources of unlimited power and glory. Choosing to live among the sinful and broken, He denied His divine privileges and submitted to an earthly father and mother. Shouldering the weight of humanity, he bowed to the agony and suffering that would be part of the atoning process.

He was obedient to the will of the Father!

“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.”

“My Father…not as I will, but as You will.”

–Jesus  (Matthew 26:39)

“…My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.”

–Jesus (John 4:34)

“…I do not seek My own will but the will of Him who sent Me.”

–Jesus (John 5:30)

This Christmas season how can we, as disciples of Christ, step out of our comfort zone and shine the light of Jesus, the Christ of Christmas?
