Day 6, “No Dairy, No Sugar” Fast
What a day of rejoicing! Sunday means corporate worship! I love driving onto the church property in great anticipation of serving and refueling. With fellow believers, it can be highly encouraging including fist bumps, hugs, laughter, smiles, and yes, sometimes even tears. From the music to the expository preaching, the Lord is prominent!
In the lineup for this morning’s worship was a reassuring song made popular by the Getty’s: “He Will Hold Me Fast.” It is perfect as I continue a “no dairy, no sugar” fast, and most importantly, as my nephew faces a stem cell transplant on March 8 (Tuesday).
When I fear my faith will fail, Christ will hold me fast;
When the tempter would prevail, He will hold me fast.
I could never keep my hold through life’s fearful path;
For my love is often cold; He must hold me fast.He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast;
For my Saviour loves me so, He will hold me fast.Those He saves are His delight, Christ will hold me fast;
Precious in his holy sight, He will hold me fast.
He’ll not let my soul be lost; His promises shall last;
Bought by Him at such a cost, He will hold me fast.He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast;
For my Saviour loves me so, He will hold me fast.For my life He bled and died, Christ will hold me fast;
Justice has been satisfied; He will hold me fast.
Raised with Him to endless life, He will hold me fast
‘Till our faith is turned to sight, When He comes at last!He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast;
For my Saviour loves me so, He will hold me fast.
The book of Jude reminds us to build ourselves up by staying in the love of God, praying in the Holy Spirit, and waiting anxiously for our Lord’s appearing for eternal life.
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,”
verse 24
HE WILL hold YOU fast!

That lovely expression in the pic has greeted many a weary worshipper as they enter the facilities! 🙂
