“Thank you, Gram!”
I cannot tell you how those 3 words melt my heart! But they surely do! A face lighting and heartwarming experience like none other for a grandmother. So just think how much our Creator loves to hear gratitude dispatched from our lips.
Suppose someone had to tell by your face if you are a person designed for gratitude. How sure are you they would respond positively? Even so our lives reflect what is in the heart (Proverbs 27:19). As believers we ought to have an attitude for gratitude!
I am a big Thesaurus user! I love to feel a concept and not just understand it. So, to get my feelers around Gratitude I reviewed the Thesaurus and found thankfulness, appreciation, and gratefulness.
How often do you send up a “thank you, Lord” dispatch? Undoubtedly, we all need to develop a gratitude perspective that transmits spontaneous praise from our hearts AND our lips throughout the day! The Lord loves to hear the praises of His people!
“Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant and praise is beautiful.”
Psalm 147:1, NASB
“Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.”
Psalm 150:2, NLT
If you have not yet today, from an attitude for gratitude, send the Lord a beautiful broadcast for all His mighty deeds but most of all for Who He is: His excellent greatness!!!
God not only loves to hear our praises, but He also loves to reward those praises!
“You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!”
Psalm 30:11-12
An attitude for gratitude can even change a perspective on difficulties and we are rewarded through our giving of thanks.
“In unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the Lord . . . and when they praised the Lord saying, ‘He indeed is good for His kindness is everlasting,’ then the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud . . . for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.”
2 Chronicles 5:13-14, NASB
Since Christ died for the sins of the world, was buried, and rose again in Victory, all who place their faith and trust in Him for the forgiveness of their sin and to receive eternal life have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of God so that we are now His temple, and through our worship, giving thankful praise from hearts filled with gratitude, we can experience the glory of the Lord filling our lives!
Paul David Tripp has said, “One of the sure signs of God’s grace in your life is gratitude.”

We have the ultimate reason for such an attitude of gratitude: Jesus is Risen. Thanks Scarlett Road!
