Can you hear the bell ringing again?

Can you hear the bell ringing again?

Another school year in bloom; excitement abounds from pressed uniforms with shiny sneakers to new smelling books and brightly colored markers! A year with exciting, yet unknown, adventures to chase.

Can you hear it?

Not far off, grumblings ensue: the teacher is too strict, she gives too much homework, the school bully sits right behind me, I feel his breath at my neck, lunch was not at all what I wanted – and on and on the list grows! Sadly, the grumbling may even be heard from the teacher’s lounge: they gave me the hardest class, I’m sure my pay decreased, it feels like I have early duty more than anyone else – and once again the list swells with complaints. It might sound a bit different, but the context of murmurings can be heard even in the homeschooling arena.

Heavenly Father,

We praise you and thank you for coming down to man through your Son and providing everything we need to live lives pleasing to you. We thank you for another school year to grow our minds with instruction aligned in right thinking. So, we ask for a work of love to be wrought within our hearts. Break the enemy’s stronghold unleashing grumblings and complaints. Give us victory to stand firm in the fight against evil and all the power of darkness that we are engaged with the moment we open our eyes each morning and sometimes even through the night. Place gratitude at the forefront of who we are and may it spill over in all that we do. We give this school year to you; mold us and make us after Your will!

In Jesus Name, Amen!

Let ALL that you do be done in love” – 1 Corinthians 16:14 (NASB).

Have you heard?

For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life” – John 3:16 (NLT).
