Can you imagine how it would feel to finally be set free after being held captive, a slave, for your entire life? Panting breathlessly, you reach a roadblock only to see your captors coming after you once again. That’s exactly what happened to God’s chosen people, the Israelites.
When Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them. They cried out to the Lord!Exodus 14:10
God sent the fleeing Israelites right to the Red Sea. He also sent the hardened-heart Egyptians after them! What kind of God does such a thing?
I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they will charge in after the Israelites. My great glory will be displayed through Pharaoh and his troops, his chariots, and his charioteers. When my glory is displayed through them, all Egypt will see my glory and know that I am the Lord!Exodus 14:17&18
God desires all people to know Him. When you know God, you know that without faith you cannot please Him! God desires a people that trust Him with everything. He desires to hear His people cry out for His help and in so doing He displays His power and love in such a way that all the earth can know that He is God!
“We may be living in distressing times, but we don’t have a distressed God.”
“There is no greater gift than knowing the Lord and no better way to experience that gift than to find ourselves with no other option but to cry out to Him.”Cry Out Challenge, Day 6, Revive Our Hearts Ministry
What to Pray
- Pray that God would open the eyes of your heart to see all the ways He is already working.
- Pray for God to reveal Himself to you in new ways as you cry out to Him. Pray that you would trust Him while you wait.
Read Psalm 18:1-3 thanking the Lord for all He HAS done for you, all He IS doing for you and all He WILL do for you still to come!
