Revive Our Hearts, a ministry helping women thrive in Christ, was founded in 2001 as a successor to Elisabeth Elliot’s ministry Gateway To Joy. The month of October has been designated as a “Cry Out!” Challenge. It’s a time to “cry out” in prayer for the many giants our world is facing, politically, economically, medically, and spiritually. I’ve taken up this challenge and now challenge you in return. Let us cry out for the needs of our world but especially of our homes, because truthfully, that’s where it all starts!
The verse shared for this first day of the “Cry Out!” Challenge is Nehemiah 9:28b –
“YET whenever your people turned and cried to you again for help, you listened once more from heaven. In your wonderful mercy, you rescued them many times!”
New Living Translation
I can’t help but share the first part of this grand verse with you since it is an alarm that needs sounding:
“But as soon as they were at peace, your people again committed evil in your sight, and once more you let their enemies conquer them”
“YET whenever your people turned and cried to you again for help, you listened once more from heaven. In your wonderful mercy, you rescued them many times!”
Oh! that God’s people would stop what they are doing and “cry out” for our homes and families, our neighbors, our churches, and our Country!
Verse 38 of Nehemiah 9 says, “The people responded, ‘In view of all this, we are making a solemn promise and putting it in writing.’” Let’s get our notebook or journal out and make an agreement in writing with God, a solemn promise to not turn our backs on Him ever again. I challenge YOU!
