Morning has broken like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the worldSweet the rains new fall, sunlit from Heaven
Like the first dewfall on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where His feet passMine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God’s recreation of the new dayMorning has broken like the first morning

Waiting to see the ophthalmologist has become a common occurrence in the last three weeks. But I am so Thankful for specialists, like Dr. Nigam, who have learned to see what is going on beneath the surface and are able to bring correction to the overall health of the eye.
As these fall/autumn mornings break through the darkness, it has been a refreshing and energizing gift from God to say the least. Praise has been flowing from my heart as I think of the many ways my Father has protected my eyesight. Beginning September 11th when a large floater and flashing light appeared. I was getting ready for a trip. Floaters were not a new thing for me. I had experienced a Posterior vitreous detachment several years earlier. But flying to Colorado September 14 to visit with grands and for my husband to speak at a Mission Conference, I felt seeing an ophthalmologist would be prudent and was seen on the 15th. With no serious issues detected at the time, I tried to enjoy my trip. However, by the 18th, more strange patterns had emerged disconcerting my peace of mind. Praying for God to direct me and bless me with wisdom, I flew home on the 20th hoping rest would bring a clearer picture. Yet, by the 22nd I felt more answers were required and was able to make an appointment for the following day with the group of doctors I had seen several years earlier. Praise God on the 23rd a leading retina specialist examined my left eye. He detected a tear in the upper corner of the retina that was not detected by all the photographs that had been made of that eye over the last 2 weeks. Feeling it needed immediate attention, he performed laser surgery while my hubby looked on.

Here I sit, a week later, the waiting room is packed with individuals shuffling from one spot to another answering questions, filling out paper work, and waiting to see a doctor. Our eyes open to see God’s dazzling handiwork and we are blessed to know those who are trained in protecting that sensory gift.
This visit had the doctor poking on my eyeball with his metal eye poker. I can confidently say, I did not enjoy the experience. 🙃 But, to hear him say he’s 98 percent sure the laser job was a success was wonderful. Besides not having to return for a whole month, unless of course a problem arises 🤦🏼♀️
It’s almost time to pack again. Flying has become another common occurrence. ✈️
P.S. If you happen to be one of those beautiful people who has prayed for my eye issues, I thank you from the bottom of my ♥️ !
Love that song and the connection to God’s provisions. I try not to think of Cat Stevens singing it!
