Frantic Flapper or Soaring Eagle

Serving alongside my husband in ministry as a pastor’s wife (many moons ago), presented opportunities where I needed God’s wisdom. In those occasions I became either a frantic flapper or a soaring eagle. More times than not, the frantic flapper emerged.

The Bible declares,

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Psalm 16:11, NLT

Oh! how I needed this truth to be fueling my heart and mind but instead, I allowed the circumstances of the day to drive me to become frantic and fumed!

God’s Word to us is TRUTH packed with high doses of WISDOM. God’s Wisdom is very interesting in that it is never forced upon us, and never pounded over our heads. We must read it and expect it to make a difference in our lives but if we fail to put it into practice it’s like looking into the mirror and then walking away and forgetting what we saw (James 1:22-25).

Relying on Scripture, trusting in it to do exactly what it says it will do, believing with a faith that will not disappoint, that is when we soar! Have you acquired your eagle’s wings?

Day 15 of my “no dairy, no sugar” fast and I am so thankful for the joy of His presence!

His way is perfect; All His promises prove true. He is a shield of protection for those who depend upon Him. Who compares to God? A solid ROCK! He equips me with strength and makes my way perfect. He keeps my foot balanced and secure as I walk uncertain terrain. He trains me for battle and gives the VICTORY supporting me and keeping me from slipping!    (Psalm 18:30-36, paraphrased)

But those who trust in the Lord . . . WILL SOAR!

Isaiah 40:31a, NLT
