You are right! We must do as you say! (Day 19)

Another world-shaking announcement came across all my media devices! Sometimes I just want to jump in my bed and cover my head! It feels like life will never be right again. It is so true that what one parent thinks is fine for their children to participate in or watch on the big screen or have on their tablet another parent may be horrified. As parents, we decide what is right for our children but who do we allow to set the bar of right and wrong in OUR lives?

Who is right and who is to be obeyed?

I find written in the book of Hosea, “. . . The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them” (Hosea 14:9b, NIV). Though written centuries ago, his words remain true and indicate Who is right and who is to be obeyed.

Julie Ackerman Link affirms: “…we must acknowledge that it is God’s right, not ours, to determine what is right. Our part is to learn what God says is right and then to submit our minds to His transforming work until we agree with Him about what it is.”

Loving God with All My Mind

When we spend time in God’s Word, we learn what is right. Through prayer and training our minds we put into practice what is right. The transforming work of Romans 12 becomes a reality.

Just think of all the hard work you would go through for something you LOVED! Getting ready for it might take you months or years, training or saving while putting all your heart and soul into the process. That is exactly the type of fervor we need when spending time communing with God through His written Word and in prayer; meditating on Scripture until it sinks in and takes hold of our thinking!

There was a time Adam and Eve walked the beautiful, thornless garden, enjoying the presence and fellowship of their Creator and doing what was RIGHT!

The whole assembly responded with a loud voice: “You are right! We must do as you say.”

Ezra 10:12

Who is right and who is to be obeyed? Lord, “you are right! We must do as you say.” Day 19, “no dairy, no sugar” fast!
