What type of tree are you? (Day 17)

No dairy, no sugar fast

Five years ago, when we moved into our present home, we planted a River Birch in our front lawn. At the beginning it was not much bigger than a twig and I feared that my lack of knowledge would end its life. A couple of times I fought bug infestation. Surely, it would never grow to be a healthy tree. Yet that Betula nigra, with its peeling bark, has more than survived. It is flourishing!

A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.

Matthew 7:18, NASB, 1979

And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season,

Psalm 1:3a

But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever.

Psalm 52:8

I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.

John 15:5

The fruit of the righteous is a tee of life . . .

Proverbs 11:30a

And how glorious that we who have chosen to believe in the name of the Son of God, will “enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life” (Revelation 22:14b). The very tree Adam and Eve were not to eat from once they sinned which found them expunged from the Garden (Genesis 3:22).

So, what type of tree are you? Apart from Him we can do nothing!
